Meet Dr. Jan Crowe
Owner, Veterinarian, and the Heart Behind Creekside Vet Clinic
Independently owned since 1998 and intentionally different in the way we care for pets and families.
While many veterinary clinics or hospitals have changed ownership, doctors and staff over the years, Dr. Crowe has been the primary veterinarian since she opened the doors of Creekside in 1998, in the same location (back then next door to Piggly Wiggly which is now Big Lots) ... She graduated with her DVM in 1984 from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Crowe has been providing veterinary care for dogs and cats throughout the Charleston area for more than 42 years. She wanted to create a veterinary practice where relationships mattered, clients felt valued, and pets received consistent care from a veterinarian who truly knew them. That vision became Creekside. We believe veterinary medicine is more than treating pets. It's about caring for the people who love them. Many of the pets she cares for today belong to families she has known for decades. In some cases, she has cared for multiple generations of pets within the same family which is a testament to the trust and relationships that have always been at the center of Creekside.

The Creekside Story
When Dr. Jan Crowe opened Creekside Vet Clinic in 1998, she didn't simply purchase a building and move in. She helped build it. With the support of friends and contractors, Dr. Crowe worked on the clinic herself - painting walls, installing cabinets, laying flooring, and helping create the welcoming environment clients know today. So when staff and friends say she built Creekside with her own hands, it's actually true. Since opening day, her goal has remained the same: "To provide exceptional veterinary care while building lasting relationships with the families who trust us with their pets." .
Familiar Faces - Lasting Relationships
One thing that makes Creekside different is our long-term team. Many of our staff members have been with us for years, sharing Dr. Crowe's commitment to compassionate care and personalized service. When you visit Creekside, you'll see familiar faces who know you, know your pet, and genuinely care about your family.
